St. Patrick's Day Card - It's Not Easy Being Green

It's hard to believe that March is just around the corner. However, since the weather here has been beautiful for the past week, I'm ready to welcome spring and all that comes with it, including St. Patrick's Day.  In honor of the upcoming holiday, I made this card to celebrate.  I've been trying to use chalk more in my projects because I really like the way it gives a simple shadow to my cuts and makes the image pop in the design.

Recipe
Card Base - Kraft colored cardstock from Michael's cut at 4 x 5 1/2"
First Layer - Green colored cardstock from Michael's cut at 3 3/8 x 5 1/4"
Second Layer - Patterned paper from American Crafts City Paper collection
Green Ribbon - From personal stash
Image - Shamrock (St. Pat. 2) from Celebrate with Flourish cut at 3 1/2"
Image - Shamrock shadow also cut at 3 1/2"
Inkadinkadoo Bold Brights Chalk (around the shamrocks)
Color Box Fluid Ink - Chestnut Brown (around shamrock shadow)

Good morning!  One of the women in my Bible study group got engaged last weekend in San Francisco and we celebrated on Thursday night during our weekly meeting. I made her this card and everyone was able to sign it as we discussed all the details of the engagement and their upcoming wedding. I used the Sweethearts cartridge and made this very simple 5 x 5 card.  The soon to be bride loved it.

First Layer: Teal colored cardstock from Stampin Up cut at 4 3/8" x 4".
Second Layer: American Crafts patterned paper - Adorn Collection.
Image: Sweethearts cartridge cut at 3.79" on my Gypsy.

Flaunt It Fridays - Tags, Bags, Boxes & More

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all were able to enjoy some time off forPresident's Day weekend.  It's time for another fun challenge over at FIF!  This week, Team 1 of the Design Team was asked to flaunt the "match 2" box in TBBM.  I decided to create a set of animal flashcards using both Paisley and Create-A-Critter. On the front of each card is a picture of an animal and on the back I used thickers to identify the animal. The box was cut out at 5 1/2 inches and the flashcards measure 5 x 3 1/4.  I used my 1/2 in corner chomper to round the cards.

Flaunt it Friday's Challenge

TGIF!  It's Friday and that means its time for another fun challenge over at Flaunt it Friday's.  This week we are flaunting the lips image on the Indie Art cartridge. For this week's project, I made my very first tag. In addition to the lips image, I also used the "smack" title from the Indie Arts cartridge.  The prima flowers and brad came from a stash that I have laying around my craft area. The ribbon is from Michael's and the tag was cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More.  To give the tag a little pizzaz, I ran it through my Cuttlebug.

Please join in on the fun this week; I am looking foward to seeing your creations!
